Locks

Our product range includes both latch locks and deadbolts. In all cases, these are surface-mounted locks. They are mounted on the door. The part of the lock that relates to the latch lock has a latch bolt that ensures that the door remains closed after it is pulled shut. Deadbolts are fitted with a knobbed cylinder which operates the deadbolt. The door can be locked either by using the knob from the inside of the door or by using the corresponding key from the outside of the door. Are you interested in the versions available or how to determine the direction of rotation of a door? Then read on.

More information about locks

Latch locks and deadbolts consist of the following components (see figure 4): a rim lock, a knobbed cylinder with three standard keys, a lever coupling set and a shield.
Deadbolts consist of a rim lock and a knobbed cylinder with three matching keys. A deadbolt is available in a light and a heavy-duty type.
The light type is brass with a matt chrome finish, the heavy-duty version is stainless steel. The interior of both locks is brass.

The direction of rotation of the door determines the lock type required.
In practice, the following rule is used to determine the direction of rotation: if you are standing on the side where the hinges are and you pull the door towards you, you can see whether the hinges are on your left or right; if the hinges are on the left, it is a left-hand door.

The pictures below show the differences between the different types of door latches.

The locks can be supplied with a standard shield (without flap) or with a shield with flap (rain protection).

The required length of the knobbed cylinder is determined as follows:

  • the knob side (the first number in the item description) is always 31mm,
  • the key side (the second number in the item description) depends on the construction of the door.

The quality of stainless-steel components is always Stainless Steel 316.
