    What exactly is a grease nipple?

    Grease nipples are small metal parts that are screwed onto a moving part for easy grease in order keep these parts moving smoothly. Grease nipples are also called lubrication nipples. Several options are available. We only supply flush grease nipples and hydraulic grease nipples.

    How does a grease nipple work?

    The grease nipple is screwed onto a moving part of a product that requires greasing to keep it moving smoothly. A grease gun is used to force lubricant into the housing under pressure. Once the grease gun is removed, a small ball seals the opening preventing the lubricant from leaking out and dirt from entering.
     

    What products are grease nipples used in?

    Rob Snel fits flush grease nipples in the outer bush of door toggles and in the hinge shaft of hinges.

    Hydraulic grease nipples are used in some weld-on bullet hinges ,but not all.

    Materials and dimensions

    Hydraulic grease nipples are not available separately, though flush grease nipples are.
    The following materials and sizes are available:

    • Size G 1/8″: this grease nipple is available in brass, stainless steel-303 and stainless steel-316.
    • Size G 1/4″: this size is only available in brass.
    • Size M8: this size is available in two brass versions: a grease nipple with a small head and one with a large head.
